- If he didn’t play well, he would lose the match . The second conditional .. If ……… past simple ………, …… would + inf. ……… . We use the second conditional to state something which is imaginary / unreal or unlikely to happen in the present or future .. EX - If he didn’t play well, he would lose the match .

Notice EX We can use “ If I were you , I would …… . “ to give advice - If I were you , I would buy a new car .
