Cleveland Middle School 7th Grade School Procedures Cleveland Middle School 7th Grade

Dress Code Clothing must be age appropriate and not distract from the learning process. No Hat, Bandannas, Sweatbands, or Sunglasses inside the building Shorts – No higher than 4 inches above the knee Skirts – No higher than 3 inches above the knee Shirts and dresses – Ca not be tank top or spaghetti strap No sagging pants - No tight clothing (Spandex) Proper foot wear is required at all time Undergarments should not be visible 1st violation – asked to remove inappropriate item 2nd violation – up to 3 days suspension 3rd violation – up to 10 days suspension

Morning Procedures Students will enter in designated areas. 6th grade will enter in the door to the right. 7th and 8th grade will enter in the door to the left. Students will go to lockers 1st & homeroom (in that order).

Opening of School Day Breakfast Procedures Carpool and bus riders must immediately report to the cafeteria if they plan to eat breakfast. No students will be allowed to enter the cafeteria after 7:55 a.m. This does not include late bus students. Students should not use the bathroom at this time. Students will be seated in designated assigned areas. Students who report to the cafeteria must eat breakfast. No going to homeroom and then breakfast after reporting to homeroom. Students must place book bags in designated area. All students who are legitimately late will receive a hall pass signed by a teacher. Clean area. Push In Chair. Throw away trash.

Announcements Seated Stop talking. Quiet and listening! No inappropriate comments. Always remain positive!

Hall Traffic Walk on the right side of the hallway. Continue moving without stopping. Hands to side while walking in hallways. No leaning on/ touching walls. Polite to others No running Hand off policy On quiet side Follow teacher directives No drinks/bathroom between classes

Lockers Don’t forget combination. Respect who you share locker with. Only go during designated times: Morning Before Homeroom After 3rd Block End of Day

Bathroom & Drinks Scheduled Class Times Not during class changes No bathroom time during class change. Emergencies only other times with agenda signed. No water bottles unless doctor’s note.

Intercom and Phones Silence so I can answer. Teacher is the only person to answer the phone or intercom. Students should not talk while teacher is on the phone. No student cell phones in class— taken—ISS

Lunchroom Procedures 4th Block—staggered entry Be in your assigned area at your assigned time. Go through lunch line once. No inappropriate behavior. Table will be dismissed after clean/pick up trash No discipline issues Avoid sharing foods Do NOT touch another’s tray/food Students line up accordingly: 1st-Silent lunch students 2nd- Bag lunch 3rd- Regular lunch 4th-A la carte

Dismissal Carpool: dismissed at 3:10 p.m. bell First Round Bus : dismissed at 3:12 p.m. bell 2nd Round Buses: dismissed at 3:17 bell Third Round Buses: dismissed at 3:22 p.m. bell 1st few days, buses called over intercom Continued…

After School Activity Dismissal Students staying for after school sporting events are to be released to the cafeteria at the 3:22 bell. Those teachers with cafeteria supervision on game days are to report at 3:22 to the cafeteria.

Dismissal Procedure-Carpool Students report immediately to carpool. Students may not reenter the building. After three (3) times of parents being late to pick up students, students will have to be assigned to a bus. In carpool area, students will follow all school rules. Students must be picked up and dropped off in assigned carpool area, not in parking lot. Student will wait for vehicle on sidewalk closest to the 7th grade area. Once the car has made a complete stop, student will walk immediately to car. Students must enter/exit from the passenger side door. Cars must pull up as far as possible to end of the drive.

Fire Drill Move quickly Move silently Listen for any directions Turn right outside door & line up outside of 7th grade hallway Last person turns our lights and closes door. Return to classroom quietly

Tornado Drill Move quickly! Move silently Listen for any directions. Turn left outside door & line up against wall outside our room door. Remain seated facing wall. Return to classroom quietly.

Code 300/Lockdown Move quickly to back corner of classroom. Move silently Listen for any directions. Sit silently and wait for any announcements . Return to class activities quietly.

7th Grade Hall Rules Be respectful! Be prepared & responsible! Be prompt to classes! Stay on right side of hall! Follow all JCS/CMS Rules!

7th Grade Class Consequences 1st offense-Verbal/Nonverbal Warning 2nd offense- Note Home/Possible Silent Lunch or Isolation in Class 3rd offense- ASD (after school detention) 4th offense- Referral to Administration

CMS Grading Policy Percentages Tests/Projects 40% Quizzes 35% Class work 15% Homework 10%

CMS Re-test Policy You can only test twice per quarter. You must show notes and complete a qualifying assignment first—due day before you come. Make an appointment during tutoring on Thursdays. Make appointment ahead of time. Retest within 7 days. You get highest grade, no average of 2 tests.
