This is how your notebook should look DATE DATE Level 2 and 3 questions In Question Cornell notes (from class) Out question Why we’re doing this- getting used to reading non-fiction books. Introduction to the scientific way of thinking. Guided notes Lab report Practice Homework

Scientific method (Scientific inquiry) 1) S.M.- a systematic way to solve problems and find answers to questions 2) Yes and No. Question – Observations (senses) - research – hypothesis – plan experiment - test experiment – collect/record data – analyze data – form a conclusion. You may need to go back and repeat steps if there were issues, mistakes or your data doesn’t make sense. Scientists often repeat experiments for accuracy (correct) and precision (close together): 1) What is the scientific method? 2) Is there any set order for the S.M?

This is the scientific method This is the scientific method. Scientific inquiry is the first step- asking a question. We use sci inquiry for things like-  Make connections with world situations ·        To encourage more active problem solving approach to learning and thinking ·        To apply math skills ·        Review what is already known in light of experimental evidence ·        Propose answers, explanations and predictions ·        Use tools to gather, analyze and interpret data
