The Importance of Forgiveness When someone has wronged you it is normal to feel hurt and angry. However, knowing how to forgive is an essential life skill. Forgiving gives a sense of peace. You can still be upset about the action, but forgive the person. Express yourself. Explain why you feel hurt or angry. Practise empathy. Put yourself in the other person’s shoes.
