3 Why Conflict Management? Conflict resolution is a way for two or more parties to find a peaceful solution to a disagreement among them. The disagreement may be personal, financial, political, or emotional. When a dispute arises, often the best course of action is negotiation to resolve the disagreement. However, resolution cannot ALWAYS occur, sometimes you have to simply MANAGE it.

4 Unhealthy Responses:  An inability to recognize and respond to matters of great importance to the other person  Explosive, angry, hurtful, and resentful reactions  The withdrawal of love, resulting in rejection, isolation, shaming, and fear of abandonment ·  The expectation of bad outcomes  The fear and avoidance of conflict

5 Healthy Responses:  The capacity to recognize and respond to important matters  A readiness to forgive and forget  The ability to seek compromise and avoid punishing  A belief that resolution can support the interests and needs of both parties
