What is Surrealism? Surrealism was a artistic movement originated in the 1920’s that depicts the artist subconscious, without the use of logical comprehensibility, both visual and in literature. It started in Europe and soon it spread around the world.

On surrealism… Surrealism emphasis was not on negation but on positive expression. This movement is heavily influenced by Sigmund Freud’s theories. It grew out from early Dadaism.

Artist… The mot famous and celebrated artist in surrealism is Salvador Dalí. Not only he painted but also directed and wrote.
