4. Salvador Dali’s Influence on Film Dali was interested in film at a young age and in his childhood he grew up in the era of silent films. This is where he got his inspiration to create films like Un chien andalouUn chien andalou He believed that film had 2 dimensions: fact and photography. He worked with numerous people in the film industry including Walt Disney and Alfred Hitchcock. Dali and Hitchcock created the film Spellbound, and the clip that was shown was about a man’s dream that entailed. In the next clip you will see Destino, an animated film that incorporates many of Dali’s paintings and it is about a woman’s love loss transforming into another opportunity for love.
