Welcome to Teen Choices Mrs. Creazzo

Course Description Teen Choices is a one semester class that focuses on goal setting, peer pressure, family relations, dating, and human sexuality. This hands-on, activity filled class will help you develop skills to make positive decisions for yourself throughout high school.

Course Requirements Lined notebook paper 1 ½ ” 3 ring notebook Student planner Pens (no red or purple ink) Colored pencils A positive and hardworking attitude

Grading Scale A = 90-100% B = 80-89% C = 70-79% D = 60-69% F = 59% and below

Attendance Please make every effort to be here every day. Most assignments are done in class and are therefore difficult to make up.

Notebooks You will need a 1 ½ inch 3 ring binder in which you will keep all assignments and hand outs. I will collect and grade notebooks once every 6 weeks. Papers MUST be in the order that I give you.

Planners You will need to keep a student planner for this class. This will help you learn how to be more organized as a student and will help you with time management The planner that is provided by the school is preferable. I will collect and grade planners every Friday, they are worth 10 point per week.

Make Up Work YOU are responsible for everything you missed while you were absent. Assignments can be found on my website http://bearclawcafe.pbworks.com You have two days for every day you were absent to make up work.

Classroom Management A folder with your name on it is located near the sink in room S-209. This is where all graded papers are handed back. Check your folder at least once a week. Put all papers from folder into your notebook. DO NOT TURN PAPERS INTO YOUR FOLDERS!

Absences and Tardies If you are tardy, sit down and be quiet, you may ask questions at the end of the period. Three unexcused tardies will result in detention (this is a school policy) Please make every effort to be on time. Absences will be handled according to the school handbook.

Inappropriate Language is offensive. Please refrain from using it!!!

Electronic Devices Electronic devices are not allowed in the classroom at any time!!!!!! This includes cell phones, CD players, personal organizers, game calculators, etc. If I catch you with a device, it will be taken from you and given back at the end of the day. After the third time it will be given to your AP. If you are using any of the devices to cheat-you will be given an F, your parents will be called, and you will be sent to your AP.

Leaving Class Make all trips to restroom, drinking fountain, etc. BEFORE coming to class. Please limit your pass requests to emergency type situations. Only one student may leave the classroom at a time. DO NOT ask to leave the room during a guest speaker, video, etc. Absolutely NO outside food or drink is allowed in the classroom, so do not ask for a pass to get food or drinks.

Sorry Your friends are not allowed in the classroom at any time. I will ask them to leave. The outlets in the back of the classroom are not for your personal use. Do not plug anything in (i.e. cell phones, ipods, etc) I will take them and give them to your AP.

FCCLA stands for Family, Community, and Career Leaders of America and is the career and technical club associated with this class. Being enrolled in one of my classes qualifies you for membership. More information will be given at a later date, as well as a sign up sheet.

E-mail Please feel free to e-mail me at any time with school related questions or comments. I will respond to you within 24 hours (though usually it will be sooner than that) My e-mail is dcreazzo@jeffco.k12.co.us

I look forward to working with you !
