In your child’s folder is a pink list of 10 words. When your child reads this list of words 3 times to me they will receive a piece of bubble gum. At that time, they will move onto the next list of 10 words. Please practice these words at home. We want to make them “stick!” October 17 Music October 18 Physical Ed October 19 Art October 20 Music October 21 Library Our Learning Math: Reviewed each number’s Touch Points. Please encourage the use of these at home when helping with math homework. Chapter 3 focuses on subtraction. Reading: Introduced the reading strategy “Flippy Dolphin.” This will help them in tapping out words by switching the vowel sound from a short sound to a long sound. Writing: Continued to work on our persuasive writing about our favorite holiday. These writings have a topic sentence, 2 reasons, and a conclusion. Science: Finished talking about the four seasons and all of the changes that each season brings to weather and activities. Our Learning Home-School Connection Your child will be bringing home their Book Folder daily to read a book to you each night. Please sign the envelope and return everything to school. They may repeat this book 2 times in a row, so please still sign the folder again.
