Mrs. Hank’s All-Stars Room 18 Week 6 Here’s what we are working on! Dates to Remember Monday September 25 Gym Tuesday, September 26 Library Wedneday/Thursday September 27/28 Music Friday, September 29 Gym/Homework Due Reading/Spelling/Math/Language/Phonics Test 6 Reading: We will be reading a fable called Jack & the Wolf .We will be focusing on understanding characters and Summarizing. Our essential question will be, What lesson can you learn from Jack? Phonics/Spelling: We will be focusing on words with short a. Math: We will be working on counting numbers, counting on by 1 , 2, and 3 numbers, decomposing numbers(breaking down numbers into 2 parts), making number bonds and simple addition and subtraction problems. Coming Up Walkathon October 5 Field Trip Money/Permission Slips Due October 10 Field Trip Monday, October 16 Party Money is Due October 20 Language: We will be learning about nouns and how to write a sentence. Students will learn how to label a picture as well. Social Studies We will be starting our first unit on Communities. We will learn about schools Long ago and compare them to schools today. Weekly Events Gym- Mondays & Fridays Music- Wednesdays &Thursdays GLC/Library- Tuesdays Art- Fridays Lunch-11:30-12:00 Afternoon Recess- Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays Computer Lab -Wednesdays Technology Lab-Fridays Star Student of the Week Beginning Monday, October 2, students will be selected each week to reign as the Star of the Week in our classroom. Students will be selected based on 3 criteria: Good Attitude, Good Behavior, & Good Completion of class & homework. When a student is selected as Star of the week, they will receive an award, a crown they can wear for that week, and will be featured on our classroom Star Student board. Students may bring treats to celebrate their week. Please send enough treats for 20 students. Birthdays Students may bring a small, store bought, treat to pass out on their birthdays. No peanut products please. Birthday treats may be passed out at lunch only. We have lunch everyday 11:30-12:00.

2 Monthly All-Star Behavior Report
Anything! My Little STARS can do Here’s what we’ve been up to… Students will return their All About Me Boxes the week they become student of the week. Please let me know if they have anything in the box that they need before then. Monthly All-Star Behavior Report These reports serve as a form of communication between parents & myself on students behavior each week, & serve as a way to keep track of students monthly behavior. Students will be rewarded each month for receiving 15 or more green/blue/purple/ pink stars only. Therefore, it is important that parents look for these reports in students blue folders EVERY DAY, then sign & return the reports each night. By signing & returning the behavior form, you are verifying that you have seen it. Students who do not return their report, will Clip down on the behavior chart. ...
