Our Learning
READING – we have been practicing our decoding strategies and focused on the short a vowel sound. We are reading texts and thinking about the characters, setting, and sequence of events. Your child learned how to log on to Kids A-Z. I have started guided reading testing.
WRITING - we reviewed that sentences start with a capital and end with a period. We are working on completing sentence starters. Ask your child about their quick word!
MATH – we are counting to twenty and using base-10 blocks to help our understanding. We are also comparing numbers using greater than, less than, and equal to.
SCIENCE – we are learning the parts of a tree and have adopted a tree to observe in our playground each season!
SOCIAL STUDIES – We are learning why there are rules and discussing rules at home and at school.
