College Night Agenda Welcome and overview by HS Counselors 6:50 - 7:15 Workshop 1 7:20 - 7:45 Workshop 2 7:50 - 8:15 Workshop 3 Ali; Tonight is an overview; March 28th is a more in-depth look at the College Admissions process; Hold all questions for the end—we will leave adequate time for Q & A. Scrap paper can be found in folder for you to write questions as they come up.

SAT Test Dates 2016 School Year Registration Deadline SAT & SAT Subject Tests May 6 April 7 June 3 May 9 SAT registration: www.collegeboard.org (cannot take SAT & SAT Subject Tests on same test date) NOTE: Students are encouraged to take the SAT with Writing SAT Test Fee: $45 *SAT with Essay: $57 Subject Test Fee: $26 plus $20 for each additional test To Send Scores: $12.00 Jacquie

ACT Test Dates 2016 School Year Registration Deadline *ACT June 10 May 5 (Late Registration May 6-19) * Indicates that the exam is offered at Grand Island High School ACT Registration: www.actstudent.org NOTE: Students are encouraged to take the ACT with Writing TEST FEES ACT (No Writing) $42.50 *ACT with Writing $58.50 Sign up for BOTH SAT and ACT!

SAT/ACT Information Grand Island will NOT be sending out test scores as we have in the past. For colleges to obtain test scores, students will need to send these scores out officially from the College Board or ACT. When students sign up to take these tests they are able to send out their scores to four colleges for free. Please take advantage of this service. The testing agency will charge a $12.00 fee per college each time a score needs to be sent.

To get ready for the SAT On average, students who take the PSAT score higher on the SAT then those who do not take it To receive feedback on your strengths and weaknesses on skills necessary for college study As an 11th grader you are entered into the National Merit Scholarship Corp. competitions for recognition and scholarships Sign-up will be in the Guidance Office
