2 The most common reasons for taking the PSAT/NMSQT are to:
Receive feedback on strengths and weaknesses on skills necessary for college study. See how student performs on an admissions test and compare with that of others applying to college. Enter the competition for scholarships from the National Merit Scholarship Program. This is the entry into the National Merit Program. Help prepare for the ACT/SAT. Students will become familiar with the kinds of questions and the exact directions they will see on the SAT. Improve test taking skills in a timed setting. Receive information from colleges and scholarship opportunities if student checks “yes" to Student Search Service.

5 October 11, 2017 PSAT Test Priority deadline for PSAT registration – September 29, 2017 $16 – Bring exact cash or check made out to John Marshall to the College and Career Resource Center Sample test provided when you register. Any questions, please see your counselor.

Fill out pink request form from guidance office for verification Register for PSAT test by speaking with the secretary in the College and Career Resource Center

7 ACT 11th GRADE ACT – All public high schools required to provide an opportunity for all 11th and/or 12th grader one FREE ACT test during school year 2017/18. February 27, 2018 (Tuesday) Make-up – March 20, 2018 (Tuesday) Scores can be used for college admissions All testing accommodations must be approved through ACT prior to testing See your case manager or counselor for more details
