3 PSAT/NMSQT PSAT = Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test
NMSQT = National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test Typically taken by juniors in Fall of 11th grade Great way to preview and practice for the SAT Free personalized SAT study recommendations

4 SAT Typically taken in spring of junior year (fall of senior year)
400–1600 score scale Sum of ELA and Math score (out of 800 each) 2-8 point Essay Score Reading, Analysis, and Writing are scored separately

5 SAT – The test Reading Multiple Choice.
Read passages and interpret informational graphics. Math Multiple Choice plus grid-ins where you come up with the answer. Calculator and No Calculator Sections. Focus on Algebra (linear equations), Problem solving and data analysis, and Advanced Math (manipulation of complex equations) plus additional topics Writing and Language Multiple Choice. Read Find mistakes and weaknesses  Fix them. Essay– Optional Read a passage, and explain how the author builds an argument to persuade an audience. Support explanation with evidence from the passage.

6 “New” SAT First administration was March 2016
The new test is now more focused on the "skills" and "knowledge“ to measure: What you learn in high school. What you need to succeed in college. Major changes: No longer will students use flashcards to memorize obscure words. ***Students earn points for the questions they answer correctly. There’s no advantage to leaving answers blank. This move to “rights-only” scoring encourages students to give the best answer they have to every question.***

7 SAT Subject Tests Subject Tests are hour-long, content-based tests.
Allow you to differentiate yourself in the college admission process or send a strong message regarding your readiness to study specific majors or programs in college. Required by some Ivy league schools. Tests: English - such as Literature History - such as World History Math - such as Math Level 1 Science - such as Biology Language - such as Latin or Spanish with Listening

Students should go to Collegeboard.com and create a free account. Provide your full, legal name and other identifying information. Make sure it’s the exact same name and information shown on your photo ID. Decide if you want to answer other questions about yourself. This takes time, but it’s worth it if you want colleges and scholarship organizations to find you. Decide whether to sign up for the SAT with Essay. See which colleges recommend or require it. 1 (low) to 36 (high) scaled score Scores on the essay are a scale of 1-36 Four writing domain scores (Ideas and Analysis, Development and Support, Organization, and Language Use and Conventions) are each scored on a scale of 2-12

11 ACT- The test Consists of four multiple-choice tests: English, mathematics, reading, and science. Optional writing test.
