New Bus Command Center The new Bus Command Center and Radio System have been advertised and are in the Procurement Phase. This is a rendering of the new command center which will be located in Brooklyn. This building is roughly 39,000 sq ft. CPM Communications 42

Design, furnish, and install a new digital bus radio communications system for NYCT and MTA Bus. Design and construct a modern, secure command center for NYCT and MTA Bus operations. Currently the DOB operations from 20 depots and its radio system utilizes 20 channels in the 800 MHz band from their BCC in ENY The MTA Bus Company operates from 8 depots and utilizes 9 channels in the 900 MHz band from its College Point facility in Flushing. This project will provide a new integrated radio system which will be operated from a unfiied bus command center in Brooklyn. The purpose of this project is to design, furnish, and install a new radio head-end system in the 700/800 MHz band, which replaces the current legacy systems that has been in place since 1992. The project will merge the 2 radio systems and the new system will serve both NYC DOB and MTA Bus to support 12,000 subscribers of radio devices in the future. All dispatching of the 2 bus fleets will be made from one centralized location. Components of the project will include multiple base station locations with a BCC in Brooklyn located at Fanchon Place parking lot in ENY which will be built under a separate project but related contract to the BRS, as well as new mobile and portable radios for over 6000 revenue and non-revenue buses. The new system will improve safety, reliability, field support for vehicles, and overall operating efficiency. It will include expanded RF capacity and coverage, simultaneous voice and data communications improved secure communications, and enhanced IP network integrated GPS capacity (allowing easier deployment of automatic vehicle identification) 43
