Paulding County, Georgia Richland Creek Water Supply Program Recommendation for Establishing USGS Monitoring Station Paulding County BOC Work Session November 10, 2015 Speaker: Mark

Update on RCR 404 Permitting 404 Permit Finalized and Received Permit finalized and issued on Friday October 9, 2015 Copy of Permit available at www.RCRwater.com Speaker: Kelly

404 Permit Requirement Establish Continuous Flow and Water Quality Monitoring Station Flow Turbidity pH Dissolved Oxygen Temperature Nitrate (Quarterly) Speaker: Kelly Continuously Collect Data and Publish to Website

Advantages of USGS Satellite Communication – No need for running cellular repeaters or communicable cable 100% Solar Powered – No requirements for power service Established Water Quality Network with industry leading data (no question of data integrity) Website already established with data access Provide all maintenance, calibration, and equipment replacement Hundreds of similar gaging stations throughout the County and throughout Georgia Since USGS desire to have a N Paulding Station - Waiving capital cost Annual O&M Cost (including replacement is $54,800) Annual Nitrate Sampling is $4,400 Speaker: Kelly

Location Easy access Will require clearing for approximately a dozen trees for solar / satellite access Location of historical monitoring so continuity of data Unit will be located outside of stream buffer Speaker: Kelly

Speaker: Kelly
