This term means that person can pay money that will allow them to be free until their trial

This term means that a person must be treated fairly when accused of a crime

This right allows us to say what we want as long as it is not slander

This amendment prevents us from having to house soldiers during times of peace

3rd Amendment

This amendment gives us the right to a fair, speedy, and public trial

6th Amendment

This amendment gives us the right to a public trial in civil cases where the disputed amount is over $20

7th Amendment

This means that a person cannot be tried twice for the same crime

Double Jeopardy

This means that a person can use their constitutional right to remain silent

Plead the 5th

This is read by police officers when someone is arrested so that the accused is informed of their rights

Miranda Warning

This means that the government can take private property for public use for a fair price

Eminent Domain

This group determines if there is enough evidence to take a person to trial

Grand Jury

This amendment protects citizens from unreasonable search and seizure

4th Amendment

This amendment protects citizens from cruel and unusual punishment

8th Amendment

This law was enacted after September 11, 2001, some say it violates the Bill of Rights

USA Patriot Act

This amendment states that rights not given to the US Government are given to the states and to the people

10th Amendment

This amendment states that all rights we have are not included in the Constitution, such as the right to vote

9th Amendment
