Attendance Requirements 10% of class participation is counted toward the final grade Students with excessive absences will get a warning and if the situation does not improve the following Quarter the students will be placed on probation during which a decision may be made about the continued enrollment at Computer Systems Institute.

Grade Requirement According to USCIS an international student should maintain GPA no lower than 2.0 That means each student should get A, B, or C as a final grade for the class Those students who get any grade below C - will get a warning and if the situation happens again will be placed on probation. If the student gets three failing grades in a row s/he will be expelled from school

How we will calculate the final grade? Midterm Exam – 35% Final Exam – 35% Participation – 10 % Lab Assignments – 20%

New Academic Policies! In Intensive English Program if the student fails a course by getting D or F, he/she will be on academic warning for one quarter and will re-take the course next year Lab Assignments count for 20% of the class final grade. Lab assignments will be evaluated by the instructor.

Language Lab Students in Intensive English Program should come to school for the lab hours he/she has signed up for and do the TMM exercises and all the exercises that the instructor assigns Students in Academic English Program should do the instructor’s assignments during the lab As an option the student also can read the book of his/her interest and work on vocabulary during lab hours at school Lab assignments stand for 20% of the Final Grade! Lab assignments will be graded based on TMM progress and additional exercises assigned by the ESL instructor on a weekly basis.

Activities that can be done in Lab Class assignments. Pronunciation Exercises Tell Me More Independent Reading No video games! All lab materials should be in English.

Pronunciation Software! The students may choose to work on pronunciation during the lab hours by using our new Pronunciation Software American Speechsounds!
