Registering for Innoventure http://arrowheadcenter.nmsu.edu/innoventure/registration/ Registration for Innoventure 2017-2018 closes September 29, 2017

Team Regulations Teams are to be comprised of 2 to 5 students. There is no limit to the number of teams a school may enter into the competition. If there is more than one team from a school each team must work on a different project.

Advisor Responsibilities Students entering the Innoventure Competition are required to have a team advisor. Teachers, parents, mentors, coaches, or any other interested adult may serve as a team advisor. Advisor Responsibilities include: - Bringing students together to form their team and product - Assisting students in conducting research and finding resources to aid in their product development - Communicating information to students from the Innoventure Directors - Being familiar with rules/guidelines/procedures/deadlines of the competition - Participate in final competition events, at least one advisor on record must be present at the final competition

Team Stipends A $150 stipend is given to each team participating in the competition in the form of a Visa Check Card. This stipend is to be used directly for materials to build a prototype or on any other expense directly related to the project. All receipts of purchases must be kept and returned along with the Visa Check Card at the final competition. Please use expense ledger on envelope sent with check card to track expenditures and check card balance.

Team Stipends Stipends can be used to purchase any materials related to the competition such as: Paper Printer ink Business cards USB drives Science fair boards Markers Labels Building materials for prototype T-shirts for the team Pens and pencils with business name * Please do not purchase any food items or items not related to the competition using the Visa Check Card.

Advisor Stipends A $150 stipend is given to each teacher/advisor for bringing teams to the final competition in Las Cruces. Stipend are issued to teachers/advisors who have students competing in the final competition only. Only one stipend per teacher is given, no matter the number of teams. In most cases, distribution of advisor stipends takes between 4-6 weeks from the final competition on May 4, 2018.

Milestones Milestones are short assignments that will help student teams prepare for the final competition. Once the business focused milestones are completed they will not need to be readdressed by the teams; they can simply be copied and pasted into the Business Model Canvas Reflection, which will be submitted one week before the final competition. All milestones will be submitted using Edmodo. They will appear as assignments and will be opened at least 2 weeks prior to the milestone deadline. All milestone submission deadlines are posted on the Events page of the Innoventure website, in the Edmodo planner, and in the Milestones folder on Edmodo. Student teams will receive points for each milestone completed and these points will count towards Final Competition scores.

Milestone Submissions When you receive your Innoventure registration confirmation email, your team will receive the Edmodo group code and a milestone code. One team member will need to login to Edmodo and submit the milestone on behalf of the team. The milestone code needs to be included on all milestone submissions both in the document and in the file name. This is how your team will ensure that they get credit for their milestone submission.

Edmodo Visit www.edmodo.com from your computer or phone Click (or tap) on the button "Join a Group“ Enter the Innoventure group code (yh5gb5) and follow instructions. All usernames should be your name + your company name All Edmodo profile pictures should be professional and school appropriate. All milestones will be given as assignments 2 weeks before the due date If you need help getting started on Edmodo, check out the video below https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v8l5SAtXBBs

Travel to the Final Competition The Innoventure Final Competition will take place Friday, May 4th, 2018 at the Corbett Center on the New Mexico State University (NMSU) campus in Las Cruces. Transportation and lodging for teams will be paid for by NMSU. Advisors/Schools will be responsible for submitting invoices to receive reimbursement for transportation costs. More information on how to do this will be sent out in March 2018. Advisors will need to provide accurate room counts and contact information for transportation companies when registering for the Innoventure Final Competition. Changes will not be able to be made for room counts after the final registration has been submitted. Parents and other chaperones will need to pay for their own hotel room.
