Michigan Department of Education ACT WorkKeys® Q&A Session Welcome to ACT WorkKeys Paper Test Administration training. My name is Abby Montgomery and I am the Project Coordinator for Michigan at ACT. I have a short presentation and then will open the phone lines for questions. Paper Testing 2016-17

Administration Date(s) Authorized Dates for Testing Initial Test Day Wednesday, April 12, 2017 Makeup Test Day Wednesday, April 26, 2017 Accommodations Test Window April 12 – 26, 2017 Test dates for the WorkKeys assessment in Michigan are: initial standard time testing on Wednesday, April 12 Makeup standard time testing occurs on Wednesday, April 26 – two weeks after the initial test date. Accommodated testing is administered during a two week testing window of April 12 - 26.

Test Administration Forms Folder Additional Orders What’s New for 2016-17 Offsite Testing Request and approval no longer required Manuals Combined Shipments Nonsecure and initial secure Test Administration Forms Folder Additional Orders Answer documents A few items which are new for the spring 2017 test administration are: In order for a school to test offsite, a request is no longer required to be submitted and approved prior to testing. The offsite location is required to meet facility requirements outlined in the Administration Manual. The location where testing occurs must be indicated on the test day administration forms. The ACT WorkKeys manual has been sectioned out to provide information needed by the school test coordinator separately from the procedures needed in the testing room. Schools will have the opportunity to indicate the number Administration Manuals they wish to receive. If a specific number is not provided, ACT will ship 1 manual for every 20 examinees. For the spring 2017 test administration non secure test materials and initial secure test materials will be combined into one shipment, arriving approximately 2 weeks prior to the initial test date. The test day administrative forms will now be referred to as Test Administration Forms Folder. These will no longer be provided in the back of the manual to be torn out but will be shipped separately from the manual. Test Administration Forms Folder for standard time administration consist of the room roster, seating chart, timing verification form and test booklet count form. The Forms Folder for accommodated testing include the administration report form to indicate timing for each subject test. A forms folder must be returned for each testing room. If an additional order is needed due to an enrollment change at the school after initial materials have been shipped, the school test coordinator will now see an option for answer documents. This will allow schools to order answer documents should there be a need. An overage will continue to be provided in the initial shipment. If test booklet are ordered, this will not generate a shipment of answer documents as well. Answer document quantities will need to be indicated separately.

Contact Updates in Educational Entity Master (EEM) Test Coordinator Updates Contact Updates in Educational Entity Master (EEM) All school and district ACT WorkKeys test coordinator contact information must be updated by the District Authorized User. Schools can view current contact information on the Education Entity Master (EEM) site at www.Michigan.gov/eem. ACT will pull contact information on a weekly basis to be loaded into Pearson Access next. The contact in Pearson Access next will receive all ACT WorkKeys communications from ACT.

Material Ordering and Pre-ID of Students Material Orders Material Ordering and Pre-ID of Students All material ordering will be completed on Michigan Secure Site. Material quantities will be determined based on the number of examinees who were pre-identified on the Secure Site. A small number of schools did load student information to the ACT site, Pearson Access next. This information has been removed. Schools must order accommodated materials from the Initial Material Ordering screen. The accommodated material totals will be subtracted from the standard time calculated quantities. If additional orders or makeup materials are needed, they may be placed during the appropriate windows on the Michigan Secure Site. The additional order window is March 23rd through March 30th. The window for ordering materials for the makeup test date is April 12th through April 13th. Instructions for ordering materials on the Michigan Secure Site can be found at www.michigan.gov/securesitetraining.
