Busy Birds Before and After School Club At John Shelton Primary School

What do we offer? We are keen to support our working parents and have opened before and after school child care to respond to parent requests. Mrs. Kerri O'Neil co- ordinates the club supported by other staff employed by the school. We have listened and responded to children's feedback on activities they would like to take part in. We hold a themed night every half term relevant to celebrations at the time. Events such as Diwali, Christmas, Easter, Chinese New Year along with many others. Staff are safeguarding and first aid trained. We use positive behaviour strategies and reward systems including feedback to parents.

Local affordable childcare We offer small healthy snack packs to keep the children's hunger at bay until home time.  Occasionally children are given treats if they correspond with specific themed activity days. We have a wide range of resources, books and toys for Early years, Key stage 1 and Key stage 2. Most importantly, we have lots of fun!

Please sign your child into school at the office. Before School Club £2.00  7:45 - 8:30am  £1.00  8:00 - 8:30am  Please sign your child into school at the office. Unfortunately we will not be able to provide breakfast, however drinks will be provided

After School Club £5.00 per child 3:15 – 5:15pm Price includes a small healthy snack pack, book your request for one online.  Please collect your child on time by 5:15pm to avoid a late collection fine. You will need to sign them out of club

What activities will my child be taking part in each day? Monday Games night

Tuesday  Soft archery

Wednesday    Ict suite

Thursday Gaming consoles

Friday Film and popcorn

Questions and Answers Q. How old does my child need to be to attend? A. We take children from Nursery who are age 3, through to children in year 6. Q. What is included in the snack pack? A. Snacks provided for the children will include items such as: Breadsticks, Cheese, Yoghurt, Fruit, Raisins. Water is available and milk on occasion

Q. What happens if I am late collecting my child? A. You will receive a £5 fine for any late collections and £5 per every 15 minutes thereafter. Attempts will be made to contact parents. No contact will result in communicating with outside authority agencies

Q. How will you know if my child has an allergy or medical need?  A. We refer to the data collection forms you filled out and sent back to school at the start of the school year for information on your child's emergency contacts details, medical conditions, and food allergies.  All care plans are collected before your child's arrival. Please make sure these details are kept up to date with the office team. Q. What will my child need to bring? A. All they need to bring is their belongings from classes, ready to take home from the club when collected.

How do I book my child onto a session? You will need to pre-book and pre pay for any club sessions.  Parents can book all sessions via school gateway, up to and including the day of the session. This system means bookings are self- sufficient and parents are in control of the process and has been met with positive feedback.  All you need is the email address you have registered with school, visit  School Gateway  to book.  Spaces are limited and bookings will be taken on a first come first serve basis. We recommend booking early to avoid disappointment

Can you help us? Easyfundraising.org        We've recently decided to pair our Busy Birds club to easyfudraising.org. This website allows parents and carers to buy from thousands of shops through their website, and the commission from every buy goes towards funding Busy Birds, and towards new supplies and equipment for the club. It doesn't take long, and we would appreciate just a moment of your time to contribute using the link below. https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/busybirds/

With thanks to our sponsors and company donations
