2 What is EYFS? Early Years Foundation Stage
The Development Matters document along with the EYFS statutory guidance creates a national curriculum for children aged 0-60 months 7 areas of learning All areas of learning are reflected inside and outdoors

5 Stay and Play Sessions You are invited to attend one session (letter in pack) Tuesday 25th June Wednesday 26th June Tuesday 2nd July Wednesday 3rd July This is a great opportunity for your child to get to know their new setting

6 Play and Paperwork Sessions
You are invited to attend one session (letter in pack) Wednesday 4th, Thursday 5th, Friday 6th or Monday 9th September From 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. Another opportunity for school staff to meet you and your child in the nursery setting. It is an important opportunity to share information about your child and about the school. The Nursery team will be on hand to talk to you and your child. It gives your child the chance to access the activities in the environment along with meeting some of their new friends.

7 Start Dates A staggered start with four groups: Tuesday 10th September
Thursday 12th September Tuesday 17th September Thursday 19th September *Start date in pack

8 Timings Morning session from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
We have a ’soft’ start and finish. Doors open in the morning at 8:50 a.m. Doors open at the end of the session at 11:50 a.m. 15 hours entitlement for the week

Learning classroom rules and daily routines Building relationships with adults in the setting

10 Preparing Use the toilet independently Wash hands
Put on and fasten their coats Take shoes on and off Talk about their needs

12 If Your Child Is Unwell Mrs Louisa Fuller is our Welfare Assistant
If your child is unwell during the school day we will contact you to collect your child. Please make sure contact details are kept up to date. If your child has been vomiting or suffering from diarrhoea. Please keep them away from school for 48 hours, from their last bout of illness. In all cases absence please leave a phone message on the first day of absence. If your child has a medical appointment during school hours, please let us have a copy of the appointment letter.

Light blue polo shirt Navy blue PE style shorts (for summer) Sensible flat shoes or trainers School fleece (optional) Sweatshirt only available from Smiths in Lancaster Road Other items available from local supermarkets

16 Governing Body Annual Maintenance contribution £35 per child
This money helps to ensure that the buildings are kept in good condition. Please complete the Gift Aid form in your pack. So far, this year will be able to claim approximately £3,000 from HMRC in Gift Aid contributions.
