Hindleap Warren Year 5 Residential

Travel The coach will leave the school at 9.30am. The journey will take around an hour. Electronic devices are not allowed for the coach journey. Travel sickness medication. Wear comfortable clothes/shoes – not school uniform. Please include a drink, in a reusable bottle, for the journey. An extra snack could also be packed. Pack a suitcase/bag with wheels. Children will leave after lunch and will dismissed as usual at 3.15pm on Friday.

Accommodation The accommodation comprises of rooms which sleep 6 children. These rooms lead off from one long corridor which is locked so no one has access. Nearer the time children will be asked to name a couple of children they would like to share with.

Day of arrival We aim to arrive around 11am. The children will have a tour of the centre. They will then have lunch. This will be followed by the first of the activities, either 3 of one hour or 2 of an hour and a half. Dinner. There may be evening activities, but this will be decided on the day.

Day 2 Breakfast at 8am. More activities in the morning, 2 one hour or 1 of an hour and a half. Lunch. Same as the day of arrival, either 3 activities of one hour or 2 of an hour and a half. Dinner. There may be evening activities, but this will be decided on the day.

Day 3 Breakfast at 8am. More activities in the morning, 2 one hour or 1 of an hour and a half. Lunch then depart.

Kit list There is a recommended kit list in your pack. Your child should have with them: Changes of clothes/shoes for 2 days and evenings. One set of old clothes/shoes that can get wet. Towel and wash kit Waterproof coat with hood. Hat and sun cream Water bottle Small rucksack No aerosols

Pocket Money As you can see there is a tuck shop. Children should bring no more than £10 to spend in the shop. If you would like the teachers to be in charge of the money for your child they will collect the money in a named envelope/purse on the day of departure. Please do not allow your child to bring sweets or phones. Throw away cameras are fine.

Medication All medication should be named and handed to the class teacher on the day of departure in a clearly named box with accompanying instructions. Fill in the medical form and hand to the class teacher by DATE. If children are travel sick, please inform the teachers and ensure you provide medication for the return journey. Food allergies – please indicate any allergies and dietary requirements on the medical form.

Contact Teachers will check in with the school each day. Parent Mail will notify parents all is well. Children should not have a mobile phone with them. They will have a wonderful time – please don’t worry!
