CMIA Long History Founded in 1948 to further the interests of Canadian military intelligence after WWII In the late 1960s folded into CISA as a result of the amalgamation of the Intelligence and Security Branches, and then later renamed CIMPA On 29 October 1982, a separate CF Intelligence Branch Association (CFIBA) was established when the Branch became its own entity In 2011, CIMPA dissolved and Int Branch members joined the CFIBA With a rapidly expanding tactical, operational and strategic intelligence function, CFIBA reviewed its goals and scope to be more representative and relevant to the military intelligence component of the Canadian intelligence community. In Jan 2013, CFIBA changed its name to CMIA and expanded its mandate. 1948 2011 1982 CMIA CISA CIMPA CFIBA 2013
