¡Bienvenidos! Welcome! Bienvenidos a la clase de Español de la Señora Guzmán.

¡Bienvenidos! Welcome! The mission of Miami Norland Senior High School is to provide a quality experience that will educate students to fulfill their roles as responsible, productive citizens who respect individuality, cultural differences, and realize their potential as life long learners

Why Study Spanish? Learning Spanish is necessary to keep pace with popular culture. Learning Spanish is actually a medical device! For many, learning Spanish is rapidly becoming a business necessity. Spanish, Spanish everywhere. Learning Spanish will (truly) expand your universe. Read the Power Point in my website. Knowing Spanish will completely transform your travel experience. Knowing how to speak Spanish will enable you to help others. There are reasons to learn language for language's sake. Learning Spanish will allow you to better appreciate Hispanic cultural contributions. Learning Spanish is fun!

Who is this Teacher? Professional Teacher for 25 years. I love and enjoy what I Do! I speak three languages. Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Education Field. ESE & ESOL Certified Mother of two wonderful boys, one is USMC Sargeant, the other is a RN. Grandma of two grandsons. I have been teaching in all fields of education, in both private and public sectors. - Elementary schools - Middle schools - High schools - Adult Education - Online school (FLVS) - Translation field - A year in Washington DC

¿Qué me gusta hacer? I am from Holguin, Cuba. I have two sons, two grandsons. I like to cook, to travel, to fish, to spend time with my family. I like to drive and to travel. My favorite series: Hawaii 5-O, NCIS, Homeland, Criminal Minds, NCIS Los Angeles. Key: Perseverance.

Where I am from? ¿De dónde soy? I am from Holguin, Cuba. Yo soy de Cuba, nací en Cuba. Pero, ahora soy ciudadana americana.

¿Cómo es la Señora Guzmán? I am kind but firm. My expectations are set from today and will be consistently implemented till last day of school. I wait until I have all my students’ attention before speak. I try to use clear language when giving directions. I do not like to repeat instructions. I expect tidiness. My students should clean up after themselves. You should treat the classroom and all school materials with respect. I like to have fun even when I am teaching! So let’s have fun! With respect! We can listen music, set a timer, set goals, etc. I am not afraid to smile and laugh in my class with my students. I love hugs too!  I am your role model for all emotions, not just for the serious ones.

¿Cómo es la Señora Guzmán? 5. Always I am well prepared for my classes. I expect the same from my students. 6. Always I will be encouraging and supportive to all my students’ efforts and problems. 7. There are always students who will want to leave the room for every bumped elbow or students who ask to go to the bathroom 18 times a day. I am going to be very judicious about allowing students to frequently leave the room, especially if I think you are looking to avoid work. Jobs have to be DONE anyways!

¿Cómo es la Señora Guzmán? 8. I Have a plan for when my students act out! The school disciplinary team is awesome! And I have my plan ready for you guys! Bur often it makes sense to ignore non-sense comments/attitude, I just will be quietly waiting for student’s non acceptable behavior. No matter what! 9. I like to take care of myself at the end of a loooong day! Tomorrow is a new slate! 8. I Have a plan for when my students act out! The school disciplinary team is awesome! And I have
