Session Segments Presentation Tina Cole and Anne Moore will provide an overview and address questions about completing the annual review using myPerformance. During the overview, your phone will be muted. Q&A After the brief overview, we’ll hold a Q&A session. We’ll open up the phone lines, and you’ll be able to ask questions. Tina and Anne will answer as many of your questions as time allows. 4

Completing the Annual Review in myPerformance

Agenda Review the Annual Review Process: Employee’s Role Manager’s Role Q & A

myPerformance – Annual Review Employee’s Role Assess your performance for the past year; enter comments and ratings into the performance form Cite major accomplishments, areas of improvement, and new skill or existing skill development Report progress towards meeting goals and responsibilities Discuss contributing factors to goal attainment and/or barriers that prevented goal achievement Obtain feedback on: Areas that are going well and areas of concern or development Discuss future career aspirations Manager’s Role Bring a written summary of the information you have prepared Provide feedback on performance Recognize accomplishments; note positive feedback (emails, letters, etc…) from others Identify gaps Develop action plan to address any skill gaps Inquire about individual’s future career goals Now we’re at the last meeting. Again, both the manager and the employee have responsibilities in this process. Point out key areas: Review of the year – no surprises Summary of what has gone on during the year – goal and major responsibilities attainment? If not, what stood in the way? Feedback from both the supervisor and employee perspective on what when well – any gaps that should be addressed Career discussion

Preparation Consider the following questions as you prepare for the Annual Review meeting: What went well? Were there any specific barriers to success? What were the outcomes that were achieved? Is my perspective the same as the employee’s/supervisor’s? Were development goals completed

In Conclusion Process flow: Employee starts the process by entering ratings and comments into myPerformance Supervisor drafts comments and ratings in the system and meets with the employee Supervisor finalizes ratings and comments and sends the form to the employee for electronic signature Employee adds electronic signature and sends form back to the supervisor Supervisor adds electronic signature and the annual review process is complete 13
