Anne Moore will provide an overview of completing the annual review meeting and introduce you to the new form. During the overview, your phone will be muted. Manager’s Role Bring a written summary of the information you have prepared Provide feedback on performance Recognize accomplishments; note positive feedback ( s, letters, etc…) from others Identify gaps Develop action plan to address any skill gaps Inquire about individual’s future career goals Employee’s Role Assess your performance for the past year; enter comments and rating into the performance form Cite major accomplishments, areas of improvement, and new or existing skill development Report progress towards meeting goals and responsibilities Discuss contributing factors to goal attainment and/or barriers that prevented goal achievement Obtain feedback on: Areas that are going well and areas of concern or development Discuss future career aspirations Now we’re at the last meeting. Again, both the manager and the employee have responsibilities in this process. Point out key areas: Review of the year – no surprises Summary of what has gone on during the year – goal and major responsibilities attainment? If not, what stood in the way? Feedback from both the supervisor and employee perspective on what when well – any gaps that should be addressed Career discussion

11 Preparation Consider the following questions as you prepare for the annual review meeting: What went well? What were the outcomes that were achieved? Were there any specific barriers to success? Is my perspective the same as the employee’s/supervisor’s? Were development goals completed?

Both employee and manager can enter comments and rating into the annual review form at any time Employee’s comments and rating are visible to the manager immediately Manager’s comments and rating are visible when the manager clicks Share Comments and Rating Manager meets with the employee Manager finalizes comments and shares them with employee Employee reviews managers comments Manager confirms the annual review meeting has taken place and advances the annual review form for Employee Signature Manager adds signature and the form is complete 15
