Literacy Phonics Maths Notices Newsletter Reception Class 24th November 2016 Literacy This week we have read the classic Fairy tale ‘The Three Little Pigs’. We enjoyed acting out the story in our groups using the various different props. We have been practicing using story language to re-enact a narrative. We have also been consolidating the skills required to write simple sentences. We are trying very hard to remember our capital letters, finger spaces and full stops. A big well done to all of the Reception children as they performed a brilliant first class worship! Thank you for everyone's support it was lovely to see the church full of the children relatives! This week we have been reading the story of ‘The Three Little Pigs’. We have really enjoyed this story and have especially liked building different homes for the pigs in the role play construction site. Phonics This week we been consolidating all of the Phase 2 sounds. We have also been learning to read and write simple captions. We have also been learning to read Phase 2 tricky words. Maths This week we have been consolidating numbers 0- 15. We will also be learning about finding one or two more than a specific number. Next week we will be learning about 3D shapes and their properties. Notices . Please can everyone practice and consolidate all of the sounds that have been completed so far as the children will be having a small phonics assessment in two weeks time.
