Literacy
This week we have been learning about adjectives. We have been thinking of lots of different describing words for the different foods that we have tried. All of the children have thought of some excellent ideas!
In our guided reading we have enjoyed reading the Chinese traditional tale of LanPoPo and the information book about Yihangs day in China.
This week we have really enjoyed learning about Chinese cuisine. The children especially enjoyed the Chinese banquet on Wednesday morning. All the children enjoyed trying the different food and we even tried eating with chop sticks! Everyone found this quite challenging!
In addition to this, we have also been looking at other Chinese traditions. Next week we will be looking at the celebration of Chinese New Year.
Phonics
Over the last two weeks we have learnt the following Phase 3 sounds; sh, ch, th, ng and ee.
Over the duration of next week please can you complete these sounds in your child’s sound book.
Maths
This week we have been learning about different denominations of money. We have been concentrating on adding different coin denominations together to find the total.
It would be fantastic if you could consolidate some money problems at home with your child.

Homework: Please can everyone complete the phonics activity in your Learning Together Books.
New School Ties: On the back of the Newsletter I have attached the children's delegated houses. The house chosen resembles the tie colour. All ties can be purchased from the school office.
