Building 1H-1stN Cisco and Holyoke team to transform the community by building a model Neighborhood of the Future. The NF combines multiple Smart + Connected solutions into a microcosm. Key to the concept is collaboration which is synonymous with community. Collaboration is used to create NF by stakeholders and is a central concept to its on-going successful operation. The NF is located in a currently disadvantaged neighborhood. It provides a service-rich environment which fosters ownership, stabilizes families, enables education, raises quality of life, builds safety, enables and provides jobs – all with its dwellers collaborating to reach these goals. It serves as a proof point for transforming the rest of Holyoke and is a template and model for other Gateway cities and the whole state. Cisco & Holyoke Team on the Neighborhood of the Future

Goals & Objectives Concept Implications Collaboration Working together to solve problems, set priorities, identify workstreams and establish success measures Joint Vision Collaborate on activities in Holyoke: 1) where S+CC can help; 2) that would impact the overarching vision. Pilots Output / results will be a pilot that is consistent with S+CC and which is aimed to improve 1H goals. Neighborhood Is neighborhood-oriented rather than whole city. We agree on a neighborhood and that 1H would advertise, promote and label as the NF. Sustainable Solutions and approaches that grow and sustain over time. Alignment with in-flight projects or multiple short term projects and a plan to bring up a 1stN. Results Measure as-is benefits to be achieved and methodology to measure realization of benefits. Taskforce Need: an organizational plan; method of selecting stakeholders; method of communicating with others; method of ratifying decisions; method of measuring when we are finished with 1N. Basis Propose sticking with three major benefits bases stated in MOU: Career Readiness Residents Retention Economics Innovation - Jobs Innovation An overarching theme. The Innovation Economy start today – in Holyoke!

Next Steps Complete 1N Vision Deliver a Pilot Plan Conduct a Pilot in 1N Plan to Complete 1N Extend Plan to 1H
