Overview – KRIVET’s establishment The Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education & Training (KRIVET) is a government funded research institute under the Prime Minister, founded in 1997 Background Objectives Emphasis on the importance of lifelong development of vocational competencies & the need for an integrated approach to vocational education and training in light of the emergence of knowledge-based economy in the 1990s Ministry of Education and Ministry of Labor jointly established KRIVET as part of education reform efforts to introduce a new vocational education system To conduct policy research on National manpower supply and demand Vocational education and training, Qualification systems Development of VET programs, career and e-Learning Lifelong development of vocational competencies

It stimulates research in the fields of human resources development and lifelong skills, development, and contributes to academic development 「e-HRD Review 」 a professional journal leading the lifelong learning society, e-HRD Review is provided through an e-mail service, offering in-depth reports on subjects related to human resources policy KRIVET Research Series They raise problems, issues and policy directions on a wide range of human resources domains based on KRIVET’s accumulated research findings, and seek strategies for human resource-centred national development in the 21st century KRIVET Brief It is an online newsletter aimed at promoting KRIVET and effectively delivering its research outcomes to users
