EX. I like to sing a lot. Me gusta mucho cantar. What is conjugation? INSTEAD OF SAYING YOU LIKE TO DO SOMETHING, YOU CAN SAY THAT YOU ACTUALLY DO THAT THING BY CONJUGATING THE VERB. EX. I like to sing a lot. Me gusta mucho cantar. EX. I sing a lot. Yo canto mucho.

Let’s first look at the subject pronouns Let’s first look at the subject pronouns. In order to conjugate a verb, you have to know what the subject is. Here are the subject pronouns.

The Pronouns YO I NOSOTROS WE NOSOTRAS WE (fem only) Tú You VOSOTROS YOU (Spain) VOSOTRAS ÉL HE ELLA SHE UD. YOU ELLOS THEY (M OR M & F) ELLAS THEY (FEM only) UDS. YOU (plural)

To conjugate a verb in Spanish, follow these three steps: Take the infinitive hablar 2. Drop the last 2 letters (you’ll be left with a stem) habl— Add the appropriate endings to the matching subject…

The endings, with their pronouns YO O NOSOTROS NOSOTRAS AMOS Tú AS VOSOTROS ÁIS VOSOTRAS ÉL ELLA A UD. ELLOS ELLAS AN UDS.

To finish conjugating HABLAR YO HABLO NOSOTROS NOSOTRAS HABLAMOS Tú HABLAS VOSOTROS HABLÁIS ÉL ELLA HABLA UD. ELLOS ELLAS HABLAN UDS.

Other regular –AR verbs that follow the same pattern: HABLAR to talk ESCUCHAR to listen (to) ESTUDIAR to study CANTAR to sing BAILAR to dance TOCAR to look at, to watch

YO I TÚ YOU (fam) ÉL HE ELLA SHE UD. YOU (form) NOSOTROS WE (masc or masc/fem) NOSOTRAS WE (fem only) VOSOTROS YOU (fam/pl. Spain) ELLOS THEY (masc or masc/fem) ELLAS THEY (fem only) UDS. YOU (plural)
