2 Stems! EVERY verb has a stem followed by an ending. The stem tells the verb’s meaning. An infinitive ending doesn’t name a subject. Habl ar Verb Stems Com er Infinitive Endings Escrib ir

3 Conjugate! -o -amos -as -áis -a -an
To give the verb a subject, you conjugate it. To do this, drop the “ar” from the end of the verb, and add one of these endings. Each ending matches a particular subject. Yo -o Nosotros -amos -as Vosotros -áis Él, Ella, Usted -a Ellos, Ellas, Ustedes -an

4 Example! Cantar- To sing Canto- I sing Cantamos- We sing
Yo Canto- I sing Nosotros Cantamos- We sing Cantas- You sing Vosotros Cantáis- You all sing Él, Ella, Usted Canta- He/She/You (formal) sings Ellos, Ellas, Ustedes Cantan- They sing

5 -o -amos -as -áis -a -an AR Verb Conjugation Nado Nadamos Nadas Nadáis
ENDINGS!!!! Example: Nadar- To swim -o -amos -as -áis -a -an Nado Nadamos Nadas Nadáis Nada Nadan
