Background of the Chapter 2000-2016 First Star Chapter in Region IV 2008 100-120 Membership 10% attendance for meeting 10-15 monthly Peak meeting attendance @ 40 Early 2000s Annual OSHA update meeting with the area director is the most attended meeting each year @ 30-35 attendees

Early Challenges Our attendance for meetings average 40 until 2008 Business stop sending employees to meetings Construction industry experience a bust Lost members as we switched from a country club location to a board members corporate training room to save money

New Strategy Sponsored meetings for $500 Table Opportunity to speak about the product or service before the meeting Send a speaker to speak on a solution for members’ safety concerns Joint meeting with other associations Joint meeting with the Gold Coast ASSE Chapter Attended other associations meetings to talk about the benefits of joining ASSE
