Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs Theory __________________ ____________ There is a hierarchy of five Needs- physiological, safety, Social, esteem, self-actualization; as each need becomes sufficiently satisfied the next one becomes dominant.

Hierarchy of Needs Theory Safety: Includes security and protection from physical and emotional harm. Physiological: Includes hunger, thirst, shelter, and other bodily needs. Social: Includes affection, belongingness, acceptance, and friendship. Esteem: Includes internal esteem factors such as self-respect, and achievement; and external esteem factors such as status, recognition, and attention. Self-actualization: The drive to become one is capable of becoming; includes growth, achieving one’s potential, and self-fulfillment.
