2014 Prison Intakes by Gender and Crime Type Female prison intakes show a higher proportion with drug and property sentences. There were 622 female prison intakes in 2014, and 4199 male prison intakes

HB 3503 – (2015) The Family Sentencing Alternative Pilot Program. Based on a similar program in Washington State. 5 Pilot counties: Washington, Multnomah, Marion, Jackson, Deschutes Offender must have custody over a minor child at the time of the offense. An offender is disqualified if the offense requires a mandatory sentence or if that person has ever been convicted of a sex crime or a person felony. The bill authorizes the court to order specific conditions when appropriate, including geographical restrictions, vocational training, parenting classes, substance abuse treatment, mental health treatment, and life skills classes. If the offender does not comply with the terms of probation, the court may revoke the probation and impose the prison sentence.
