ASSISTANT GOVERNOR JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW & OBJECTIVE - The Assistant District Governor (ADG or AG) is the primary contact between the Rotary Club, the Administrative Assistant Governor and the District Governor. He/she is a valuable resource, advisor and communicator within the district. They are to work with the Rotary clubs in their area, assist the efforts of their Rotary Clubs and assure that the Clubs achieve their pre-established and self-established goals including creating a sense of camaraderie, inspiration, enthusiasm and mutual support among the Area Club Presidents.

I – Mandatory AG Duties (Review and Discuss with the District Governor) Read: “Lead Your District - Assistant Governor” Ensure Clubs have their key chairs listed with District – Due June 1. Meet Club Presidents to discuss the clubs’ goals and to review the Planning Guide for Effective Clubs – Due June 1st Ensure clubs edit club info and post on Rotary Club Central – Due June 1st Attend Pre-PETS – early or mid Feb Attend PETS – End of Feb or early March

I – Mandatory AG Duties ( Cont’d) Complete “Rate Clubs” from Rotary Club Central, and submit to District Governor – due May 1st Attend Leadership and Training meetings – Spring and Fall where available Visit each club four times per year (DG Visit, plus three others) Submit expenses for required events within 30 days to district office

II – Suggested or Optional AG Duties Assist club Presidents and club officers – goals, plans and objectives Assist club Presidents in scheduling and planning for the Governor’s official visit; introduce the Governor Attend District Events Attend online monthly Assistant Governor meetings Meet at a monthly All-Presidents meeting Attend club executive meetings Identify and encourage “Leaders beyond the club level” Attend and actively promote attendance for district events

ROTARY DISTRICT 5060 AG Qualifications Must be: Willing to get up for 6:45 meetings, but can also make long noon “hour” meetings Able to keep up with your PE’s at PETS A Club Past President (Mike F./Reg/Karin/Sherry /Dorys/Nandi/Chris) Incredibly good looking, witty and charming Able to work with a diverse group of clubs and District leadership
