Welcome to GCE History By the end of this course you will: Gain a unique insight into specific periods of History and by so doing develop a strong understanding of the modern world. Develop analytical and evaluative skills, particularly in relation to historical sources and differing interpretations of History. Apply an enquiring, critical and thoughtful approach to the study of History and develop excellent written and verbal communication skills. All these skills will equip you to live in the modern world and to build a successful career.

History A Level: Course content The themes you will study... Breadth Study: (Years 12&13) The Tudor 1485-1603. This is an exciting and dramatic period in the History of England. Full of larger than life characters, rebellions and beheadings. Depth Study: The Cold War 1945-1991. A time of division when the world was brought to the brink of World War III and yet somehow survived. Dig into the details of Vietnam, the Berlin wall and the Cuban Missile Crisis. Historical Investigation: An exciting opportunity to carry out your own enquiry into a debate from History that inspires you.

A 3,500 word essay on a topic of your choosing. Economics A Level: Assessment Exam board: Assessment: Percentage: Detail: Examination 80% 2 exams sat at the end of Year 13.
