I’m so happy you’re in my class I’m so happy you’re in my class! We are gong to have a wonderful year together! As you wait for us to get started, your parent(s) can begin the following: Sign up for a conference time on the front chalkboard Sign up for a class party at the rainbow table Sign the permission slip on the table and place it in the pile on the counter Sign the 3 volunteer forms at the table and place it in the pile on the counter Sign the bus paper on the easel in the front of the room to verify your child’s bus number Check out the classroom! We will begin around 6:10 

Nurse Alert Please do not send medication in your child’s backpack Nurse Alert Please do not send medication in your child’s backpack. Only inhalers and Epi-pens that have been cleared by the nurse are allowed in student’s backpacks. We have peanut and tree nut allergies. Please remind your child to wash their hands before leaving the house in the morning. We will also wash hands before entering the classroom.

Lunch Put money or check in an envelope with child’s first and last name and account number. Pay using MySchoolBucks online. Go to www.svsd.net, Departments, Food Services for the link. Practice the key pad nightly. Don’t forget to push ENTER. The paper is in your mailbox.

Recess We will be going outside for recess every day as long as the temperature is above 32 degrees and it is not raining or snowing. Please keep a hat and gloves in your child’s backpack once it starts getting cold. Scheduled at 1:00 – 1:20

Allergy Policy The SVSD School Board adopted an allergy policy which modifies the way snacks, including birthday and holiday party snacks, are provided to students for safety reasons. This is updated so please see the foods list. Please refer to page 27 in the CVE Student Handbook. This can be accessed on the CVE website.

Classroom Supplies Needed Please see the First Grade Supplies List and send in all items listed with exception of erasers and highlighters Fine tip, black, low odor dry erase markers Tissues and Clorox wipes are needed Art Shirt with name Socks in a Ziploc bag

Birthdays You can attend lunch with your child on that day. Cash only for adults and let me know. Party invitations – mailed or emailed home Non-edible treats

Dismissal Pick-Up Form Send in a Dismissal Pick Up Form when you will be picking up your child at the end of the day. See sample in Student Handbook on page 14. Also, send a Tardy Arrival/Early Dismissal/Absentee Form when needed. These forms are in your child’s mailbox. All notes must have child’s first and last name and room number.

Books will be checked out on Day 4 during the cycle we have computer. So all books are due back to school on cycle we have computer and on Day 4. Day 4 Spanish Day 5 Art

iLead@CVE. The Olweus theme is… We will continue having our Olweus meetings on Day 1. We will integrate “The 7 Habits of Happy Kids” into our Olweus meetings. There will be more to come about this wonderful way to promote problem solving and communication skills to our students to make them all leaders.
