3 Arrival Being on time helps your child start the day in a smooth and wonderful way! School doors will open at 7:00 am. If your child arrives before 7:30, they may eat breakfast or go to the gym (Mrs. Fonger’s). Students are picked up at 7:30 and walk to the classroom together. Our school day officially starts at 7:40.

4 Dismissal Car Riders- Car tag must be attached to backpack
KINS- cafeteria Daycare- walked to gym Bus Riders- Bus tag must be attached to backpack Walkers- Summerglen /Mountain Lodge/Tuscany Heights- Siblings (let me know if not picking up) Changes to dismissal- please notify ( - wait for response or call the office) No changes can be made after 2:30. Office doors are locked from 2:30-3:15.

Hot Lunch or bring from home Contact Cafeteria Manager for Restrictions Parent Portal for payments/ view purchases Parent Table-note needed to take peer

6 Water Bottles and Snacks
Students are welcome to bring a water bottle daily. Please only send spill proof water bottles (built in straw, not ones that open up). Snack will be after rest time. A sign-up will be sent the first week of school.

7 Social Emotional Learning
Students will learn from a social emotional learning curriculum. Skills reinforced: friendship, problem solving, taking turns, sharing, manners, etc. Pre-K will visit the Play Lab through the week to practice SEL skills. Center Areas include: arts and crafts, kitchen, blocks, Legos, trains, library, ramps with balls, large motor skills- trampoline, balance beam, ball toss

8 Big Goals Reading Goals: Letters and Sounds Phonological Awareness
Beginning writing Math Goals: 1-1 Correspondence Counting to 30 Geometric reasoning (Shapes)

9 Homework Read with your child every night!
Activities to try at home will be sent in the weekly newsletter

10 Birthdays Birthday hat/ pencil from office
Store Bought Birthday treats- optional Drop off in the morning or come at 2:20-2:40. Birthday song/ Dance Invitations- If sending invitations to pass out in class please send for all students—we don’t want hurt feelings.

11 Spirit Shirts Available for purchase by PTA.
Each Friday is Spirit Day! Help us win the weekly spirit contest! Wonderful to have for field trip.

12 **Must be DPS cleared- NEISD website**
Room Parent- 2 parties (Winter and End of Year) Class Prep Helpers (at home or at school) tracing, cutting, etc. Reading Group Helpers Field Trips- TBD Join PTA!!!

13 Communication Take Home Folder- flyers, class work, notes, lunch money in envelopes - newsletter, reminders, change of transportation Remind: a code to sign up will be available at Meet the Teacher Conference Time- 7:45-8:30-- to schedule Fall and Spring Conferences will take place on early release days (12:55) to review student assessments and progress.
