Forecasting Incoming Juniors WELCOME! Forecasting Incoming Juniors

Forecasting: Step by Step Fill out Forecasting Sheet. Research classes. Get signatures from your parents and teachers. Use Course Planning Guide for help. Meet with your counselor as needed. Enter class choices online. Turn in your form!

StudentVue You MUST know your StudentVue USERNAME and PASSWORD in order to forecast! If you don’t have one or both of these you must go to the main office and request this before your forecasting day.

What To Consider When Forecasting Graduation Requirements General University Requirements NCAA Requirements Scholars Diploma Special Programs offered to GHS students: International Baccalaureate (IB) Center For Advanced Learning (CAL)

Graduation Credit Requirements Language Arts 4.00 Social Studies 3.00 Math 3.00 Science 3.00 Physical Ed 1.00 Health 1.00 Career/Fine Arts/Tech 3.00 /World Language Electives 6.00 Total Credits Required: 24

GRADUATION IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY, SO DON’T WAIT! CREDIT RECOVERY There are several ways you can make up a class that you’ve failed. Classes must be approved by your COUNSELOR prior to registration. If you have questions, make an appointment to see your Counselor ASAP! GRADUATION IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY, SO DON’T WAIT!

How many classes do I take? Freshmen = 7 Classes Sophomores = 7 classes Juniors take at least 6 classes. Seniors take at least 4 classes.

General University Requirements A minimum grade of “C” in core courses 4 years of English 3 years of Mathematics - (including Algebra 2) 3 years of Science 3 years of Social Studies 2 years of the same World Language 16 academic credits in core subject areas .5 credit in a Visual/Performing Fine Arts class is recommended

Additional College Requirements Minimum grade point averages for admission: 3.00 for U of O (Review) 3.00 for OSU, PSU, OIT, SOU 2.75 for EOU, WOU Universities also require ACT/SAT test scores.

Honor Roll & Athletics Honor Roll requires 6 graded classes. Any class taken for Pass/No Pass credit will not count. Participating in Athletics requires passing 5 graded classes. For NCAA eligibility: Need 16 Core Credits Register with NCAA Junior Year See Athletic Director for Questions.

Scholars Diploma Earn accumulative GPA of at least 3.5 Earn a minimum of 25 credits, 8 of which must be in designated advanced courses Have been an active participant in at least one co-curricular activity May earn only one elective credit using the PASS/NO PASS option.

International Baccalaureate (IB) IB classes are the most challenging courses offered at GHS for Juniors and Seniors. IB Program Options: Earn a full IB diploma Take 4 years of a World Language Take IB Tests and Earn college credit Take one or more IB classes in strong subject area Questions? Benefits of the IB Program Best preparation for a 4-year college Begin earning college credits while still in high school. Universities value IB students and over 1,900 colleges have policies to recognize IB.

Center for Advanced Learning (CAL) CAL offers advanced courses in 5 technology-based fields for juniors and seniors: Digital Media, Video and Design Computer Systems – Cybersecurity, Game Design and Programming Medical and Dental Engineering & Manufacturing CHANGElab - Entrepreneurship

Benefits of CAL No Cost to attend Students spend 3 periods at GHS and the remainder of the day at CAL/ACE Transportation is provided Hands on learning environment

Forecasting Sheet After you have completed the personal data section, Fill out Forecasting Sheet. Research classes. Get signatures from your parents and teachers. Use Course Planning Guide for help. Meet with your counselor as needed. Turn in form to your teacher by due date. Enter class choices online.

Choosing CORE Classes For ENGLISH, MATH, SCIENCE & SOCIAL STUDIES: CONSULT WITH YOUR TEACHERS TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT CLASSES! TEACHERS WILL LOOK OVER FORMS AND SIGN. USE THE COURSE PLANNING GUIDE FOR HELP!

Forecasting for CAL Fill out Forecasting Sheet as a GHS student. Mark the CAL box on the sheet. Pick up an application in the Counseling Office. You will be notified if you are accepted. Your schedule will be adjusted for next year.
