BCSS—Business Class Services Specialist The BCSS certification describes the knowledge of an experienced technician who will perform businesslevel installations for small to medium business class customers. Successful candidates have the knowledge to install and troubleshoot as required to repair or restore the customer’s business service. BDS—Broadband Distribution Specialist BDS certifies knowledge in the subject matter related to the RF distribution of signals. All aspects of the network from the optical node to the distribution tap are included in this certification curriculum. BTS—Broadband Transport Specialist BTS certifies knowledge in the transport of signals, including aspects of the network from the headend to the hub and from the hub to the optical node. BTCS—Broadband TelecomCenter Specialist BTCS certifies knowledge in maintenance and troubleshooting of inside plant facilities to ensure minimal system outages, maximum reliability, and standards compliance for optimal operations. Differences in age, gender, race, culture, education, and other factors of an individual’s background can be leveraged as assets. Valuing diversity means recognizing that other people, voices, and cultures can offer new ways of seeing the world, solving problems, and working together. SCTE Inclusion Philosophy SCTE’s long-term goal is to ensure that our membership, volunteer membership, and staff represent a strong and evolving model of diversity and inclusion for the technical operations and engineering workforce of the Broadband Industry, and those that support them. SCTE will focus on creating an inclusive culture where people’s unique contributions are valued, and provide tools for expanded access to leadership opportunities SCTE is committed to partnering with other industry associations, cable operators and vendors to further promote inclusiveness across the entire industry. Our industry strives to be diverse and recognizes that an inclusive culture is good for business and the right thing to do. This corporate initiative is a result of the need for a collaborative effort to support inclusion within the cable telecommunica tions industry.
