How to become a Marketing Specialist Jacob’s Career Path How to become a Marketing Specialist

My Career Goals I want to become Marketing Specialist by 2032. To get there, I will need to: Graduate high school by June 2019 Raise money Get good grades Build a strong resume

What is Marketing Specialist? Marketing specialists guide companies in managing promotions and retaining customers. They are hired to improve the sales of a company’s products or services by increasing consumers’ awareness of them. What do they do? Making product availability known Create public awareness Convince customers that they need it. Decide upon the products price, image and selling strategy Analyze strengths and weaknesses of a product and it’s market

About my future career Marketing specialists primarily work in office environments, although they might occasionally visit manufacturing plants to view a products production The salary range for this job is $30,000 - $120,000 per year They often have to work evenings and weekends in order to meet deadlines. They may also travel to meet with clients and conduct business.

My job has a 61.3% chance of becoming automated I really don’t think that this job will become automated because robots cannot make clever decisions on how sales can improve, but people can. This job also requires a lot of negotiation. Robots cannot persuade people to buy a product if they don’t know someone's special case. People need to do this job because customers actually like logical responses rather than pre-formed ones.

A Marketing Specialist would be great for me because… I already have these skills for this career: Interactive, determined, hard-working, creative, and persuasive

I am not quite ready for this career, but I will get there! These are skills for the job I still need to learn: This is how I will get those necessary skills: analytical Practice with my math skills efficient Focus harder on work and avoid my phone outgoing Sound positive and confident when working with others

This is what appeals to me with this career… Travel to meet clients – I love to travel. Discussing with people Designing marketing strategies Creating advertisements Raising awareness

These are some things I find less appealing about this career… I wish there was more rest time to do other recreation activities Most work is on the weekends and that is when I like to do everything.

Potential obstacles to getting this career The possible obstacles: My plan to overcome them: Completing all of the education. Get as far as I can through university and complete it. Apply for many jobs preferably related to marketing, and scholarships Having enough money Having enough experience to make a substantial resume for the job Take whatever job I can and do lots of volunteering

Potential obstacles to being successful within this career The possible obstacles: My plan to overcome them: Getting hired by large companies Make myself known from advertisements and previous work with smaller companies. Competition with other Marketing specialists Have references and always stay updated when new opportunities open. Research and analyze into how other companies are advertising. Staying updated on marketing strategies

The training/education required for my career is: A Bachelors Degree or Diploma Post secondary education in Marketing Masters Degree is helpful

The logo: Campus:

I intend to go to BCIT for that career It is located in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada I would take the Marketing Management program. This would give me a Certificate. I may choose the pace in which I study but all program requirements must be completed within seven years. It can be started in January, September and April. It costs $7000 for tuition

Here is where I can get that: The picture shows all of the required courses There are also many other courses that are decided by me to attain 47 credits 1. Financial Plan I am going to pay for my program: I am going to start working every summer from now, either at A&W or at a paper business. I will also apply for as many scholarships that I can before I graduate and also get lots of volunteer work to put on my resume. I also have a bank account that I started saving up in a couple of years ago for university costs.
