When I was doing career matchmaker I found a lot of jobs that I may be interested in. I went through the list of my choices and picked my top five I’d enjoy doing the most. I want to become a medical assistant and nurse. A medical assistant makes $30,170 per year and a nurse makes $69,110 per year. I don’t really care for the money I’ve always wanted to help people who need any type of medical attention. Those are the top two that matched my future. The other three that interested me on the list is a public health nurse who makes $54,964 per year , hospital service worker which makes $55,860 per year , and a nursing assistant that makes $25,420 per year. I personally like either one they all involve helping people who need help. The pay for all of them is very nice but the money doesn’t matter my purpose is to pay it forward and help others in need. I was able to reflect and confirm that these careers are something I’m interested in doing !

3. Learning Styles Inventory

I’m a visual learner. I learn best when information is presented in written form or even the important things highlighted or underlined. I learn a concept better and faster by making flash cards. I can remember information using methods that are primarily visual. I’m also a tactile learner meaning I learn better doing things hands on , whether its building something or even moving something. I learn well doing physical things. I’m not so much of a auditory learner. I personally don’t listen and I like to do things on my own. However I do listen for the instructions but I like to try to complete the task on my own. Having those skills are important some learn differently than others and mine just happens to be visual learner. I have reflected and confirmed my learning styles inventory is accurate.

4. My Saved Careers
Adult Education Teacher
Medical Assistant
The saved careers I have is to either become a medical assistant or a adult education teacher. I would love to work in either one of those fields, but I rather become a medical assistant over a adult education teacher. They both include helping people but I would rather give someone medical attention. I have reflected and confirmed that this is what I would like to do as my saved careers.

The careers I have selected are what I might be interested in doing. I’ve picked adult education teacher, computer trainer , human resources specialist, and a school superintendent. Out of all of those I think I’d enjoy becoming a school superintendent the most. My second choice would be a adult education teacher then a computer trainer because I’m really good with computers already. My last option would be a human resources specialist it doesn’t look or sound as fun as the other ones though. I was able to reflect and confirm my career selector was up to date and accurate.

6. My Saved Schools
I would like to attend Macomb Community College as my first choice. I want to go their for my basic college credits and maybe my future careers. My second choice would be Oakland University, I heard they have a really good medical program. My third choice would be Ross Medical Education Center I would be able to start my career as a medical assistant sooner . I have reflected and confirmed my saved schools are up to date and accurate.

7. School Selector
For school selector I’ve looked at graduate schools and career technical schools. For Macomb Community College you must maintain a cumulative 2.0 or higher grade point average and maintain a cumulative completion rate of at least 67%. Currently I have what is needed to apply at Macomb I have a 2.7 GPA. I reflected and confirmed that my school selector is up to date and its something I'm eligible for.

8. Financial Aid Selector
For my financial aid selector I choose to do local scholarship finder. I am certainly applying for about 4 scholarships right now the Homer J Van Hollenbeck foundation, L'Anse Creuse Foundation Pauline Pavlick Memorial Scholarship Program, and the Macomb Community College Edward L. Ebert Education Endowed Scholarship. I am going to apply for more scholarships my job Taco Bell also offers scholarships so I look forward to applying with them too ! I have reflected and confirmed that my financial aid selector is up to date and accurate.

9. My Saved Pathways
Human Services
Business , management, marketing and technology
For my saved pathways my 1st choice is in human services and my 2nd choice is in business, management , marketing and technology. Human services is meeting human needs through an applied knowledge base, focusing on prevention as well as remediation of problems, and maintaining a commitment to improving the overall quality of life. Business , management , marketing and technology includes entrepreneurships, sales, marketing computer/information systems, finance, economics and management. I’d enjoy doing something in the human services field over my other choice. I personally like to help others whatever the case may be. I have reflected and confirmed my saved pathways is something I'm interested in doing.

10. Career Planning Activities
For my career planning activities I have down working at Taco Bell and practicing for the SAT. I have worked at Taco Bell since June of 2016 and I am a service champ and I'm learning how to do food! I will be practicing for the SAT or Act in April or even maybe before hand. I have reflected and confirmed that my career planning activities are accurate.

11. Post Secondary Plan

My post secondary plan is to become a medical assistant as my 1st choice a nurse as my 2nd and become apart of the law enforcement as my 3rd choice. I can reflect and confirm that my post secondary plan is accurate and it’s what I’d like to do in the future.

12. Career & Life Goals
Everyone has a different short term and a long term goal. It’s important to have a short term goal and long term goal so you can succeed in whatever it is you want to accomplish in life . My short term goal is to graduate on June 8th of 2017 , take drivers training , get a car, get a apartment , and apply for Macomb Community College. I will complete all of my short term goals by at least 2020 or even sooner but I will complete graduation this year in a few months. My long term goal is to complete a college degree, become a medical assistant and a nurse , have my own place with my family , and pay it forward to those in need around the world. I can reflect and confirm on my career and life goals because those are the goals I’d like to accomplish and succeed in until I can’t anymore.
