Goal As part of SISD's "Digitally Nurturing Academics" initiative, the district will provide a mobile computing device to all enrolled ninth grade student's at Socorro High School. All students who have access to the device will be required to use it as a part of the learning environment throughout the instructional year.

Receiving the Mobile Device 1. Each participant will pay an annual, non-refundable usage fee. In return each participant will receive a district assigned laptop, charger, and protective sleeve that will be returned in working condition to the district at the end of the instructional year. 2. Parents/ Legal Guardians must sign the Mobile Device Loan and Damage/Loss Agreement before the student can start participating in the program.

Returning the Mobile Device 1. All devices will be returned to Socorro HS at the end of the instructional year. If a student withdraws prior to the end of the year, the device will be returned at the time. 2. If a student fails to return the device and any school district-issued accessories at the end of the school or upon withdrawal from the school, the student will be charged a $100 fee for the replacement cost of the device. The student will be responsible for any damage to the device, consistent with the Damage/Loss Agreement Form.

Damaged Laptop If a device is damaged, administration will determine if student will be charged cost of repair due to negligence.

Loss or Theft The student must file an incident report with security officers, if the device is lost or stolen, then report to the library with incident report. If the device is unable to be recovered in working condition, the student will pay a $100 replacement fee and receive another device.

Safety and Security - As with any filtering system, there is never a 100% guarantee that it can not be bypassed or inappropriate content cannot be accessed. However, the district continuously updates its software and diligently investigates any possible security breaches to keep the network environment safe for all users. Parents should take appropriate steps to create a safe environment for laptop use away from school.

Technology Support - The Socorro HS Computer Maintenance class will serve as the first level of technical support for student laptops. If they are unable to resolve problems with the laptop, they will then refer the issue to our district technicians. - Mr. Lara and Cyber Dogs are located in the library.

Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e

Mobile Device Loan and Damage/ Loss Agreement Both parent and student must sign and date the contract. Contract will be digital this year. Students must come in person and sign the contract digitally. Parents are able to print contract, sign it and send with student on day of registration.
