Differences between the upper/lower level CogAT Lower-level CogAT: Levels 5/6-8 (For grades K-2) Upper-level CogAT: Levels 9-7/18 (For grades 3 and up) Has an ELL accommodation (a.k.a. “Alt Verbal”) There is no ELL accommodation (a.k.a. no “Alt Verbal” version) Picture-based, teacher-paced, verbal and quantitative subtests Text- and numeric-based, timed, verbal and quantitative subtests The test is not timed The test is timed.
