Proctoring the Online CogAT Most Difficult Online Test in KSD to administer! Browser issues (use NBL browser) Multiple “virtual” classrooms within one classroom Proctor computer often is slow to refresh Convenient buttons, such as “continue testing all” sometimes do not work Test Tickets devoid of important information for proctor to know etc.

Differences between the upper/lower level CogAT Lower-level CogAT: Levels 5/6-8 (For grades K-2) Upper-level CogAT: Levels 9-7/18 (For grades 3 and up) Has an ELL accommodation (a.k.a. “Alt Verbal”) There is no ELL accommodation (a.k.a. no “Alt Verbal” version) Picture-based, teacher-paced, verbal and quantitative subtests Text- and numeric-based, timed, verbal and quantitative subtests The test is not timed The test is timed. Total test time is longer: Students can take as long as they need with recommended testing times from 10 to 15 minutes for each subtest Total test time is shorter: Students are given 10 minutes do complete each subtest Test is not timed Proctor can extend time for test-takers while student is taking test Scratch paper pencil not permitted You need to provide scratch paper and pencil for the Quantitative Battery No mention of students using a glossary Glossary (Language word-to-word dictionary) permitted for certain students No mark function exists for students Students have option to mark questions to revisit before submitting the test No review option exists for students Review question option at end of test
