SETA Report to Select Committee on Labour and Public Enterprises Learnership and Internship Provincial Implementation Report From 2097 unemployed learners trained 1994 were trained through Learnership and 103 through Internship programmes. SETA Report to Select Committee on Labour and Public Enterprises Support to FET Colleges (ICT Train the Trainer programme for Lecturers) Northern Cape Northern Cape Rural FET College Kathu Campus* Western Cape False Bay FET College Good Hope Campus-Khayelitsha South Cape College (Karoo) Beaufort West Campus The Department of Communication has committed R10m and the Isett Seta R 6, 28m (R 16,28m) to roll-out the capacity building programme to 18 FET colleges across nine (9) provinces. MoUs with provincial Departments of Education will be concluded. September 2006 SETA Report to Select Committee on Labour and Public Enterprises

Future Plans for the Isett Seta Labour To implement Learnership and Internship programmes in under represented provinces in partnership with provincial governments. To further train and up-skill unplaced learners. To secure experiential training and placement opportunities for unemployed graduates. To date 408 graduates trained and placed at a total cost of R 18, 36m. To further train 3000 graduates on the internship programmes in the next 18 months as part of the JIPSA programme. To procure R 85m from the NSF to achieve set objectives. September 2006 SETA Report to Select Committee on Labour and Public Enterprises

Continued support to SMME training providers. Encourage companies to enroll at least 15% white learners of Learnerships.
