The adults in Year 4 Willow Class Teacher: Amie Rowan Class Teacher: Lucin Link teacher: Hanife (until end of September)/ Paige (From October) Year 4 Teaching Assistant: Sabera, Kathy. Your child will be taught by this teaching team so will not always be taught by their class teacher. We teach children in different groups to ensure the learning is at the right level for them.

Homework in Year 4 Maths Number Superstars – is the same as last year. -Learnits in homework book CGP books- next step once children are confident and fluent with times tables. Literacy Daily reading Half termly spellings – tested twice Creative half term homework Linked to each half term’s topic Followed up in school: Maths We do the number superstars test on a Wednesday. Literacy Reading We will be starting accelerated reader this half term. This involves children taking quizzes on books they have read. It is a great way for us to monitor reading and is fun! Half termly spellings – tested in Week 5 and Week 7. Creative half term homework This will be given out at the end of the half term.

Important dates! PE - Thursday The children need to bring in their PE kits every week. Parents’ Meetings – Tuesday 11 th October. Cake sale- Friday 23 rd September Trip (House of Illustration) Willow-Wednesday 21 st September Rowan-Wednesday 28 th September

Uniform reminder! Our uniform is: a yellow polo shirt a navy cardigan, jumper or fleece grey, navy or black trousers, skirt or a dress (not jeans) dark shoes In the Summer, your child can choose to wear a blue or yellow gingham dress. Sandals are discouraged as they do not offer enough protection when playing in the playground. Children must not wear jewellery at school due to Health and Safety. The uniform can be bought online by going to the school website and clicking on the ‘Parents/Carers’ tab.

How to get in touch with us The beginning and the end of the day tends to be very busy! Short messages are fine at these times but if you need to speak to us in detail, please make an appointment. To do this, phone Ermin in the office and give her some times that would work for you and we will get back to you.
