3 The adults in Year 3 Beech Class Teacher: Saffron Birch Class Teacher: Mikhaila Link HLTA: Sally Year 3 TA: Sajeda Your child will be taught by this teaching team so will not always be taught by their class teacher. We teach children in different groups to ensure the learning is at the right level for them.

5 Homework in Year 3 Maths Number Superstars – this has changed to match the new national curriculum Literacy Daily reading – reading journals Half termly spellings – tested weekly Creative half term homework's Linked to each half term’s topic Maths We do the number superstars test on a Monday. Literacy We look at children’s reading records on a Monday. Half termly spellings – tested in weekly. Creative half term homeworks This will be given out at the end of the half term.

6 Important dates! PE - Monday The children need to bring in their PE kits every week. Birch Swimming - Monday The children need to bring in their swimming kits every week. Beech Class will go swimming after February half term until the end of the year. Parents Meetings – w/c Monday 12 th October TRIPS! We are planning a trip to The National Gallery on 20/9/16 to link to our topic!

7 Uniform reminder! Our uniform is: a gold polo shirt a navy cardigan, jumper or fleece grey, navy or black trousers, skirt or a dress (not jeans) dark shoes In the Summer, your child can choose to wear a blue or yellow gingham dress. Sandals are discouraged as they do not offer enough protection when playing in the playground. Children must not wear jewellery at school due to Health and Safety. The uniform can be bought online by going to the school website and clicking on the ‘Parents/Carers’ tab.

8 How to get in touch with us The beginning and the end of the day tends to be very busy! Short messages are fine at these times but if you need to speak to us in detail, please make an appointment. To do this, phone Ermin in the office and give her some times that would work for you and we will get back to you.
