Daily Schedule Mrs. Snyder – ELA Mrs. Brown – Math & Science 8:15 – 9:15 Reading 9:15 – 10:00 Writing 10:00 – 10:45 Specials (Music, PE, Art) Tennis shoes must be worn on PE days. 10:45 – 11:15 Social Studies 11:15 – 12:15 4 th Grade Intervention/Enrichment 12:15 – 12:30 Recess 12:30 – 1:00 Lunch 1:00 – 2:10 Math 2:10 – 3:00 Science 3:00 Prepare for Dismissal 3:10 Dismissal NOTE: Monday’s schedule is altered due to Fourth Grade Team Planning (PLC).

Important Folders Tuesday Folders – includes campus/community handouts, graded work, and behavior chart (please sign each week and help by asking your child for the folder and sheet every Tuesday evening.) Please help your student practice the skill of responsibility by returning the folder and signed sheet Wednesday morning. Homework Folder – Spelling, reading logs, and any math/science homework will be kept inside this folder. Please help your student practice the skill of organization by encouraging them to place things in the appropriate place.

Communication is the most efficient way to contact us. For all emergencies and/or changes for end of day transportation: Please notify the front office at Business cards are stapled into Tuesday folder with contact information for both teachers. You are welcome to remove the cards to keep. Always feel free to call. We will be unable to answer the phone during instructional hours, but please leave a message and we will contact you as soon as possible.

STAAR State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness Fourth grade students will take Math, Reading, and Writing Tests are timed – 4 hours Writing: divided over 2 days Day 1: -half of multiple choice (revising and editing) -one page composition: personal narrative Day 2: -second half of multiple choice -one page composition: expository piece

Before you leave … 1.PTO – support your child and their school by joining PTO! Our school would not be as wonderful without our fabulous PTO community. 2.Please fill out Parent Contact Information sheet and leave with us today. 3.We are asking that each student have an ID on the outside of their backpack. (suggestions: permanent marker OR luggage tag)

Helpful Hints Write your child’s name on all personal items: backpacks, jackets, lunch box, etc. To minimize lost academic instructional time – please try to schedule all appointments on Monday afternoons. Help your child develop organizational and responsibility skills: prepare backpacks, clothes, lunch boxes, etc. the night before.
